| Robert Hancock protected the right of those accused of contempt of court to remain silent during their trials. A client had been accused of contempt of court in a proceeding regarding failure to pay child support. The client invoked his right to remain silent. The judge refused to honor the client's invocation of his Fifth Amendment rights, forced him to testify, and sentenced him to jail. After getting the client out of jail, Robert successfully appealed the issue to the Colorado Court of Appeals which reversed the trial court. |
